SISSA Medialab designs customised programs and activities for primary and secondary school students, striving to develop curiosity and critical thinking with a participatory, inclusive, and informal approach. The topics covered include elements of coding, computational thinking, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and other contemporary research themes.

It is SISSA's Children's University that every year involves hundreds of primary and secondary school students who visit SISSA and meet those who work there. SISSA Medialab trains and assists researchers involved in the programme, facilitating the proposed activities. The project is part of EUCU.NET, the network connecting European Children's Universities.
Find out more on the SISSA for Schools website.Since 2022, SISSA Medialab has been designing and implementing STEM vocational guidance, digital literacy, and approach to research on behalf of SISSA. The aim is to make children and young people aware of the educational and professional possibilities offered by some specific STEM university courses, thus facilitating their future choices.
Educational programs for young people and children on coding, robotics, artificial intelligence, digital citizenship, science journalism, and podcasting, using participatory methods and hands-on activities, with a focus on inclusion for all. Many programs can be included in the offerings for DM 65/2023.
For over 10 years, training courses have been offered for teachers of all levels on coding and computational thinking, digital citizenship and artificial intelligence, discussion games and innovative methodologies, podcasting, and science journalism. Many courses can be included in the offerings for DM 66/2023.
From 2019 to 2025, SISSA Medialab coordinated the Youth City Council of Trieste (CCRR), established in accordance with the provisions of the United Nations General Assembly, which gives young people the opportunity to express ideas to improve the city.
